The Organisation for African Development (OAD) focuses on promoting scientific agriculture and facilitating youth engagement in agribusiness through arts and sports.
We’re an NGO that strives to promote scientific agriculture, and facilitate a greater youth uptake of agri-biz, with the help of the arts and sports – most notably football. Founded in the year 2008, and re-branded in 2011 as the Organisation for African Development (OAD). We aim to help create millions of jobs for African youth by working to make agriculture (as Kofi Annan says) “sexy” i.e.; more attractive, appealing and rewarding.
Our commitment to youth engagement extends beyond agriculture, utilizing arts and sports, particularly football, as tools to empower and inspire the next generation of African leaders.
The OAD – Organisation for African Development - develops ethical advocacy and action programmes in partnership with key stakeholders to address the causes and consequences of extreme poverty in all its forms; by promoting sustainable peace and agriculture. OAD uses sports and cultural activities as a mechanism to increase interest, investment and participation in agriculture particularly for the youth and women.
"Empowering youth for sustainable agricultural practices and economic growth in Africa."
OAD strives to use Scientific Agriculture, Culture and Sports, particularly football as its driving force, to liberate Africa from extreme poverty, unemployment, hunger, malnutrition, social vices, youth extremism and youth migration. The organisation primarily works for peaceful development and places firm emphasis on benefits for vulnerable women and children.
OAD's ultimate objective is to work continuously for the growth and prosperity of all people in Africa, by working towards improving the quality of life of people through ethical initiatives, which flow from building unified efforts for food security.
Join global and continental efforts by major stakeholders to eradicate extreme poverty, unemployment, hunger, malnutrition, youth extremism and youth migration by creating millions of jobs through agriculture.
Help to ensure food security in Africa and beyond, in a peaceful environment.

Work with the custodians of the lands, traditional power structures in Africa to make available litigation free land for agricultural purposes, to encourage the youth and all unemployed to go into agriculture.
Work towards and advocate for investmentsalong the agriculture value chain for smallholders as a key to ensure rural prosperity.
Create live media events to encourage African youth to appreciate the viability of agronomy and agribusiness by applying our unique approach.
